If you’re here, you probably want to learn more about me. Well, this is the place – better than Wikipedia, better than Facebook – Growing EPP is the best place to learn more about me, Evan Parker Pierce.

I’m many things – a web geek, an English nerd, a sports nut and a writerly sort.

By day, I’m a department director at a web development firm – I’m in charge of web content and search engine optimization to be precise, with a healthy sprinkling of project management, with focus as diverse as redesigning giant Christmas stores and small business consulting firms.

I also direct our public relations and marketing efforts – that’s not a secondary job by any means. As a smallish web development firm, we all wear many hats, and with so many projects launching on a regular basis, we always have lots of news to share. I also write our inhouse web development blog, which can be viewed at www.360psg.com/blog.

In between I write for a whole smattering of outlets, on an array of topics – I blog about being a young twentysomething (which I am, oddly enough) for the Buffalo News. I also review and write about music and entertainment as a regular freelance contributer (check out some of my clips in the main part of this blog). At one time I was a regular contributor to the News’ City desk as an intern – I wrote about 50 stories for them, and some of the best ended up on section front pages and even a few on the frontpage of the paper itself. You’ll see some of the best ones throughout this site.

In my off hours, I contribute to Spin.com’s It Happened Last Night feature, showcasing the best music that flows through Buffalo. I also am a compulsive sports fan, and have started a sports humor website that has seen some modest success, having been featured on Deadspin and CNNSI a few times. It’s fun, and a bit ribald, but it’s one of those blogs that toes the line between serious analysis and passionate fandom.

If you’d like to see that, let me know.

The rest of this site functions as my online portfolio – it contains reprints and PDFs of my assorted writing samples and projects, and even some original work not featured anywhere else.
